Frequently asked questions

Gross vs net margin?

Gross: revenue − COGS. Net: gross − all other costs. SaaS often has 80% gross but 20% net.

Good margin?

Software: 60-80%+ gross. Manufacturing: 25-45%. Grocery: 1-3% net (high volume). Industry-dependent.
